Tamarindo has all the amenities of a Costa Rican beach town: surf, sand and sun, sun, sun. But it offers much more to many more. It is the ideal place for honeymoons and weddings, couples, and families, and wonderfully suited to eco-adventures. Tamarindo offers first class sport fishing, sailing, surfing, golf, ATV tours, turtle watching, diving, horseback riding, canopy tours, jungle boat rides, beauty spa, an art gallery and crafts and pottery stores. A multi-cultural community, Tamarindo boats several bakeries, an outdoors vegetable market and more than 40 restaurants. Whether you like to eat Vegetarian, 'Tipico' Costa Rican, Italian or Sea Food, it is all here. The Costa Rica cuisine is varied and the local Tamarindo fare is both good and reasonable. For those with more cosmopolitan tastes, there are ample restaurants providing European type meals at very affordable prices.
The sun shines just about 365 days per year, and the temperature is pleasantly warm year round. In the rainy season, from May through October, you can expect a brief shower in the late afternoon, making the beach sparkle, and allowing for extraordinary sunsets
While Spanish is the official language, most of the friendly people of Tamarindo speak good English and the many foreign business owners and workers make the need to speak Spanish a minor issue. It's good to try and the locals are more that willing to help when a word or phrase is needed to complete a thought. They also like to practice their English and are happy when you can help them.
During the day there is no lack of things to do for both the laid back or the adventurous. Horses can be rented and will be brought to the condo for riding on the Tamarindo Beach and in the hills. Surfing is a major sport down here and Tamarindo beach is known worldwide for it's consistent and challenging surf. The Pacific teams with sport fish and charters are available for action both above and below the Pacific. There are world class Sport Fishing and outstanding Scuba and Snorkeling experiences awaiting you at almost any Costa Rica beach.
